City Celebrates! New Year’s Eve 2012
Organized and presented by AHA! & the City of New Bedford

Arrive early and stay late! Ring in 2013 with fireworks in Custom House Square - and be home in time to watch the ball drop in NYC Times Square.

FREE programming from 4:30 to 8pm includes:
• Opening Ceremony with Mayor Mitchell, Miss Massachusetts, Councilor Martins, Showstoppers & UMass Steel Drum Band
• Ecumenical Service for the New Year @ Seamen's Bethel from 5-6pm
• Fire & Ice! Fire Eaters (6pm on the Whaling Museum Plaza & 7:30pm in Wing's Court) & Live Ice Sculpting in Custom House Square starting at 4:30pm
•  Street Performance with Trevor the Juggleron William street from 5:30-7:30pm
• Hula Hooping outside the Library from 4-5pm
• Hot Chocolate & Cookies in the City Hall Ashely Room from 4:30-7pm
• Tattoos & Tarot at MUSE Studio from 6-8pm
• UMASS Dartmouth Kekeli African Music Ensemble led by master drummer saeed abbas of ghana, west africa & royal hartigan performing on Purchase Street (near the Star Store) or inside at Penler (if inclement weather) from 7-8pm
• Look for the Southcoast Health Van (outside the National Park Visitor Center) offering free health screenings and free flu, Pneumonia, and Tetanus vaccinations from 4-9pm
• We Art NB! Galleries open for strolling & shopping: Arthur Moniz Gallery (until 7pm), Crowell's Fine Art, Gallery 65, Judith Klein Art Gallery (until 6:30pm) & TL6 the Gallery
• Boutique Shopping - cash in those gift cards: Artificial Marketplace, Calico (until 7pm), 767 Exchange, & Travessia Urban Winery (normally closed on Monday will open until 5pm for your NYE wine purchasing)
• Get out of the cold & warm up with a hot beverage, soup, sandwich or sweet at Celtic Coffee House or Cafe Arpeggio (serving until 8pm)

- Toe Jam Puppet Band (5:30, 6:30, & 7:30), Aerial Arts (5:15-5:30 & 6:15-6:30) & Stace Your Face (5-7:30pm) @ the YMCA
- Hands-on activities for kids at Artworks!, NBAM (4:30-6:30pm), & the National Park with the 19th Century Ladies (5-7pm): NBAM will have mask making using the technique of repoussé (French for "pushed up "). Make colorful hanging masks on a thin sheet of soft metal.
- Bristol Community College hosts Family Magic Workshop & Show with Jedlie's Magic Circus at 6 & 7:15pm
- Storytelling @ the NB Public Library with Yasmin from 5-6pm & Artworks! with Karen Chase at 6:30 & 7:30pm
- Hand-on activities & live exhibits @ the Ocean Explorium from 4-7pm
- NBHS Drama Club presents Greek Myths & Theater Games @ the NB Public Libray from 6:15-7:30pm

DJ Anghelli will be spinning music from now and then and getting loud. Join the fun, make some noise, bust a few moves and have a good time!

City Celebrates! New Year's After Nine
AHA! partner eateries are open late with live music & great food! Perfect for counting down to 2013!
• Urban Grille will be opening at 5pm offering their full menu of fantastic food. Plus! Live music with Doug Logan, 8pm-midnight. Reservations recommended.
• Stop by Rose Alley Ale House for cold brews & hot food including the best wings in town.
DJ Tom Cooney will be spinning tunes from 9pm-1am. Complimentary champagne toast at midnight.
• Cork will have live music with Chris Richards & Mike Lavoie from 8:30pm-12:30am plus a 5 course sharing menu with Champagne toast starting at 5pm
 Freestone's will be offering a Special New Year's Eve Menu from 5pm til closing. Accepting reservations starting at 4pm.
• Pour Farm Tavern's got their World Famous Cubano along with live music --- Nick Sundman, Blood Moons & Roman Numeral Three.
• Waterfront Grill will be open from 11:30am-9pm. Reservations accepted and recommended for groups over 5.
• Stop by the newly opened Celtic Pub (adjacent to the Celtic Coffe House) for a pint or a bite open. Open until the ball drops!
 Grab a slice or a whole pie at Pizan's Pizzeria or Brick (open until 9pm)
• Make a reservation for the Special NYE menu at Candleworks, seatings at 6 & 8:30pm. Plus DJ Gene Daniels will be in the house starting at 9pm.
